PA UNIFORM CONSTRUCTION CODE ACT 45 OF 1999

Pennsylvania’s first statewide Uniform Construction Code went into effect on April 9, 2004 in New London Township. The following Codes are now applicable:

• International Building Code 2006
• ICC Electrical Code 2006 (w/NEC 2992)
• International Mechanical Code 2006
• International Fuel Gas Code 2006
• International Plumbing Code 2006
• International Fire Code 2006
• International Energy Conservation Code 2006
• International Existing Building Code 2006
• International Performance Code for Buildings 2006
• International Urban-Wildlife Interface Code 2006
• International Residential Code 2006
• ICC ANSI A.1.17.1 2003

Please contact the Zoning Officer for questions regarding any building alterations or additions to ensure compliance with the new codes. Also, please contact the Township Office if you are finishing your basement. Please note that all sheds require a “set-back” inspection and that all sheds over 100 square feet will be assessed by the County Assessment Office.

APPLICATIONS FOR BUILDING PERMITS MAY BE OBTAINED AT THE TOWNSHIP OFFICE.
